The Century Series

The iconic “century series” fighters and fighter-bombers that were a fixture in the skies from the 1960’s and 70’s.  Some types were in faithful service into the 1980’s.

Description

The 1960’s were a very exciting time in aviation.  Less than fifty years from the birth of aviation when the Wright brothers first took flight, the “century series” of fighter aircraft was making history as well flying at speed only dreamed of in 1908.  The “century series” is the well known name of a group of fighters was named due to the numerical designators given at the time.  Serving throughout the 60’s and 70’s with some types serving into the 80’s.   Iconic aircraft each in it’s right, Mads captures the the F-100 Super Sabre, F-101 Voodoo, F-102 Delta Dagger, F-104 Starfighter, F-105 Thunderchief, F-106 Delta Dart, and the F-107 Ultra Sabre in a echelon formation.  The aircraft that are colloquially known as the century series aircraft even though the designation system continued after these aircraft,
